External auditing tools (WP 5)
Description of work
The French High Authority on Health (HAS, former ANEAS) is the lead partner of this work package.
This work pacakge will perform an analysis of instruments and approaches that are being used across Europe in assuring high levels of patient safety through external evaluation of health services.
Input will also be provided by other partners, especially regarding:
professional aspects by the Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME)
organizational aspects by the European Hospital and Healthcare Organisation (HOPE)
patient participation by the Long-term Medical Conditions Alliance for health (LMCA).
Links already exist with international experts in external review and will be used.
The identified instruments will then be structured and a recommendation developed on a minimal set of instruments that should be used in external evaluation in order to assure patient safety.
The findings will be published and all background material will be made available through a web-based resource.
Results to be achieved
To define a set of instruments that can be used to increase patient safety through external evaluation.
To develop recommendation on external evaluation of health services with regard to patient safety.
Objective
The objective of this work package is the development of recommendations for external evaluation and instruments that will be part of the final toolbox for improving patient safety.
