Description of the work
The Council of Europe is the lead partner in this work package.
The Council of Europe has developed Recommendation (2006)7 on management of patient safety and prevention of adverse events in health care, through an international committee of experts delegated by Member States of the Council of Europe.
A draft of this Recommendation was presented on April 14/15 2005 at a Council of Europe Conference in Warsaw, Poland.
The Simpatie project will contribute to promotion and dissemination of the recommendation by increasing its practical usability at the work floor (rather than on the system level).
This work package will consider application of the Council of Europe recommendation to the tasks of the work packages 4-6 of the project. The recommendation will also be offered for public discussion and feed back using a web based tool, a living guideline.
Results to be achieved
The objective of this work package is to provide a framework for the development of a toolbox for improving patient safety. The framework should enable translation of the recommendation in a practical and usable tool for the work floor in the remainder of the project.
