Biography




Graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow; Chief Specialist at National Center for Quality Assessment in Healthcare, Agency of MoH. Developed and implemented accreditation program (JCAHO model) for healthcare organizations; Board member of European Society for Quality in Healthcare; participation in EU funded projects (CEEQNET; MARQuIS; SIMPATIE); Polish representative at the WHO World Alliance for Patient Safety; member of the Council of Europe Committee of Experts on Management of Safety and Quality in Health Care: Prevention of Adverse Events in Health Care, a System Approach. Invited expert in international programs and trainings: Slovak Rep; Croatia; Lithuania; Bulgaria; Romania; Egypt. Dutiful mother and housewife (3 children and 2 dogs).

Polish Society for Quality Promotion in Health Care (TPJ)

TPJ:not -for-profit NGO founded in 1993 from the initiative of medical professionals. Mission: to improve the quality of healthcare in Poland;

700 individual members. Main activity areas:

  • Organization of annual international conference ”QUALITY IN HEALTHCARE” since 1995; (May 2005: “The Safe Patient”)

  • Co-development of accreditation system in Poland in 1998;

  • Co-development of the first edition of JCI accreditation standards;

  • Organization of education ( training courses and workshops) for healthcare organizations in the area of accreditation as EQA

  • Training and education in the management of QA projects; Infection Control, Use of Antibiotic Therapy; patient safety;

  • Development of accreditation programs ( standards, procedure, surveyors’ training) for Primary and Ambulatory Care;

  • Developing clinical practice guidelines;

  • Conducting Health Technology Assessment analyses;

  • Conducting professional patient satisfaction surveys;

  • Supporting European Accreditation Forum (TPJ hosted the Forum in 2002 and 2003)

  • 2002 initiating the issue of patient safety within the Polish medical environment (conferences, education, publications; national survey on med. professionals’ views and opinions re iatrogenic errors in healthcare

As a member of ESQH TPJ actively participates in ESQH activities, also as an organizer and host of the ESQH Spring Workshop in Krakow, the co-event of the Spring Conference of Guidelines International Network (GIN) and Council of Europe Conference on Implementation of Clinical Guidelines (April 2003).
