Biography

During my studies (Industrial Design engineering) I was trained in Human Factors and focussing on a customer. We learnt to specify what is needed to realise a goal. An important issue was also how to realise innovation or change in an organisation. In that time a sensitivity for realising change was being created.

My professional background is in implementing zero defect systems in highly professional industrial organisations and starting up production lines. This is all about change, training and structuring an organisation. It is also about how to do it first time right. I received this training in Rank Xerox which was the global benchmark on Quality and Process improvement in the beginning of the 90-ies. I developed and started up a small production unit and the qualification was like for external suppliers. Even now I am still impressed how Rank Xerox was structured. Even now I meet quality professionals who think that 0 defects is an unreachable goal. I experienced and also realised this. It is all about focus and structuring.

My experience with changing from automated production of airbags towards manual production is the link to Healthcare. This airbag company Morton Automotive Safety Products had something to explain to their customer when they banned the robots. I had to explain this for BMW.

As a consultant I worked for several companies and I met several different cultures. I learnt that companies who were strong in training the crew realised high standards with little financial resources.

Description organisation

With Consultancy activities I focus on supporting Hospitals to introduce error reduction/elimination programmes. The support is focussed on creating a safety organisation, training and supplying the appropriate tools.

The consultancy is combined with the supply of incident reporting software.
