National Surveillance of MRSA (Slovenia)

This comprises:

• a. National surveillance of MRSA in hospitals reported to National Commission for HCAI. This has helped to establish structures and processes within in hospitals to tackle HCAI;



• b. Collaboration with EARSS regarding MRSA - same as above; and



• c. Surgical wound infection - thoracic surgery.

This programme has proven to be a success story (fall from 2.5% in 2002 to 0% in 2004).
