Regional Patient Safety Network (France)

A regional organisation was set up among health care establishments in 2001 with the support of the Healthcare Regional Agency to develop and attain professional practice assessment. It concerns a quality network in between hospitals of the Franche Comté region entitled REQUA (REseau QUAlité des établissements de santé de Franche Comté). One of the key issues of the REQUA workplan concerns the risk management policy with several projects achieved or on the way.

One of the projects concerns a framework for an adverse event reporting and learning system: how to design, implement and use a reporting and learning system as a part of a patient safety programme in a hospital with synergy with HAS certification and professional practice assessment.
